How to use

About

This Digital Hose End Timer has a 3/4” swivel female hose inlet and outlet with male hose thread so it can be attached into a garden hose or faucet/spigot. Our suggestion is to install the hose end timer above ground to any hose thread connection. The B09B battery operated Digital Hose End Timer uses six programming buttons. The left button is used only for On mode, the button on the right is used only for Off mode, and the four buttons in the center are used to program the unit.

Battery

This Digital Hose End Timer requires one 9-volt battery (alkaline battery recommended).

  1. To install the battery, use a firm pressure to lift the battery compartment cover in the back of the unit.
  2. Insert a new 9-volt battery and lock down the battery in place. The polarity is marked for direction.
  3. Replace battery compartment cover in its proper place, ensuring a triangle is formed on the underside of the timer.

Review the instruction manual included with the unit for details.

Installation into a faucet

  1.  If installation is into a faucet connect the swivel female hose thread to the faucet using the swivel adapter.
  2. If the timer is installed with a drip irrigation system, make sure to add a 25 or 30 PSI pressure regulator to lower the pressure to the drip system, then install a 150 or higher mesh screen filter to protect the drip system, following with a swivel adapter to the drip tubing.
  3. After the timer has been programmed, turn the faucet on and test the timer by pressing the On button once to see the timer open and press the Off button to see it close. No other steps are needed.

gros problème Review by M. Jardinier
General appreciation
The fitings are plastic. I had the old model, it didn't make it more than 2 seasons, it seems that they didn't change that feature on the new model : the pieces can barely support the weight of a hose hanging, and you need to build some frame of your own to make it support. Poorly design, if only it was metal fitings... (Posted on 17-01-23)

I use it for my drip irrigation. Works great for two months now. (Posted on 16-09-01)
Reduces pressure Review by Bob
General appreciation
I bought the timer for my Dubois drip line kit. The drip line kit instructions said there is a minimum pressure that the system works optimally at. After hooking up the timer my pressure fell below this threshold. So I did not use the timer. In my case I was using 2200 feet of drip line. I found it took about a day to properly water our tomatoes so a timer really was not necessary in our case. I think a timer would be good when using a sprinkler. (Posted on 16-07-21)

General appreciation
Timer works as expected. I should have researched a bit more for a model that allows for varied durations of watering times so that in hot weather I can water for an hour at night and then give the plants a brief shot of water in the hottest part of the day. But this would be a luxury, not a necessity. I like the timer. (Posted on 16-07-18)
